Indeed, that’s why I don’t understand all of these senseless debates on the confederate flag; taking that down won’t change anything.

Symbols are powerful motivators and de-motivators because of what they represent. So I’m all for the removal of them. But, we cant stop there because the real goal should be to end racism in all of its form. So maybe very comfortable with seeing a racist symbol removed but will not do the work in their own communities, businesses, and philanthropic organizations, political affiliations, etc to dismantle racism and privilege at its core. That is where the rubber meets the road and the real work begins.
