Black History: Special Delivery!
Today we share a quote from civil rights activist, and wife of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Corretta Scott King:
“Love is a powerful force”
Coretta Scott King believed deeply in the transformative power of love, seeing it as the foundation for justice and nonviolent resistance. Throughout her life, she emphasized that love—not hatred—fuels lasting change, famously stating, “Love is the motivating principle by which we should govern our lives. Hate is too great a burden to bear.” In her speeches and writings, including My Life, My Love, My Legacy, she reinforced that love was central to the Civil Rights Movement and every fight for equality. Whether advocating for racial justice or global peace, she carried forward Dr. King’s vision, reminding us that true freedom is earned in every generation and love must always be at its core.
