The legendary songstress was actually named Diane not Diana. Her name was, incorrectly printed as Diana, and that’s what folks started using. Another interesting fact about Diana Ross is that her neighbor growing up in Detroit was the legendary Smokey Robinson. Many also don’t know that her group, The Supremes original name was The Primettes.

when I was in grade school, I’d walk 10 blocks to my best pal’s house before school started and she’d play “Upside Down before you turn me… inside out… round and round…” and we were really young, so we had no idea about content or anything… but we would lip synch to Diana in front of this big mirror my pal had in her room… and Diana made us feel happy and beautiful and possible as singers. Which we were not good singers!
Oh well. 🙂
