Interesting. Would’ve thought that would go to Tina Turner, who actually performed rock music.

Yes…. That is interesting. At the time the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame was going through a bit of an image crisis for initially not inducting women when it first launched in 1986. They still are criticized for not being more inclusive and recognizing more women in the industry. Both Tina and Aretha are GREAT musical icons. Thanks for your comments!
